With a permanent twinkle in his eye, spring in his walk and smile on his lips, affable, approachable and altruistic DG Saravanan is all set to create the Magic of Rotary through the Magic of “Nama Sara”, as he is fondly called. Giving and accepting love, encouraging and inspiring others, cherishing the past and looking forward to the future, rendering help and enriching lives are just of the few Mantras adopted by the charismatic leader of the District 3234 for the year 2024-2025. Rivetted by his very nature, a customer and a Rotarian, enticed him to join Rotary and so he did join RC of Mylapore on July 7th 2000. He migrated to RC of Chennai Mitra as a charter member and took on the Presidential roles in the Rotary year 2005-06. Incidentally, I am his co-President. From the word “Go” in Rotary, he has enthusiastically participated in all of the club and district’s activities, networked and built goodwill, displayed philanthropic inclination by supporting many worthy projects. Not only is Rtn. Saravanan a Major Donor Level 2, a Paul Harris Society member, 4 Global Grant Projects supporter but has also signed an Endowment Fund for USD 25,000.
Rotary’s Magnetic Charm
He was fascinated by Rotary because there is no hierarchy, all are equal, and all voices are heard. He gathered through his personal experiences that Rotary harnesses an encouraging environment at all-times and in all-occasions. This he believed helped Rotarians to capture all fears and challenges, thereby developing various skills for success like relationship skills, leadership skills, organizing skills etc. Sara’s journey from his seat to the mic was not an easy one, but like the proof of the pudding is in the eating Sara is now a leader sheer by facing the predictable and unpredictable challenges.
Governor’s Hell-bent Focus
As a governor his focus is on Sustainable Women Empowerment by rolling out initiatives that help women realize dreams and plans. During his term as Governor, he hopes to impress on the Rotarians the necessity of going back to basics, following the philosophy of “Start on Time and End on Time” and developing the inherent feeling of “Joy of being a Rotarian” .
Business Démarche
Venturing as a first-generation entrepreneur, he is the Managing Director of YENNES Infotec (P) Ltd and his company is the largest partner for Tally – Accounting Software in the India with 8 offices in Tamil Nadu. Training in Tally is given free of charge to the deserving.
Hum Do Hamare Do
The Malayalee duo Sarabaru (Sara and Bharathi), tied the knot after a brief period of Sara chasing, courting and charming his way into Bharati’s heart. (Today with his charm, he has dived into our hearts too!!!). First Lady Bharathi, dynamic, ever-smiling and eleemosynary is passionate about Yoga and renders support as Director in DG’s business. His elder daughter graduated in Design from Symbiosis. She worked in Deloitte for a brief period and now is doing her Post Graduation in College of Arts, Maryland. His younger daughter is in the XIIth standard – yet to make her decision on her way forward in life.
